NCC Chooses LeBreton Redevelopment Partner
It looks like the Ottawa Senators could soon be building a new arena in LeBreton Flats after their bid was named as the top choice by the NCC. Their decision ends months of speculation as to who would be responsible for the massive undertaking that is sure to change the face of Ottawa. The Sens-backed RendezVous LeBreton Group managed to sway the five-member selection committee with a proposal that includes five distinct neighbourhoods centred around a major events centre.
The fact that progress is being made on the redevelopment of the flats is welcome news to LeBreton condo buyers including our own EDGE LeBreton Flats purchasers who will be moving into their new condo project at the beginning of next year. The new infrastructure will create and attract badly needed amenities to the neighbourhood that will make it infinitely more pedestrian friendly. Currently, those living in the Flats have a long walk to grab even a simple coffee or to pick up some groceries. Soon they’ll have all that and a short walk to what will hopefully be a world-class hockey arena as well.
