Our condos go green for earth day
Wednesday, April 22nd is Earth Day which provides an excellent opportunity for us to reflect on what we do to keep our condos and new homes as green and environmentally responsive as possible. Our buyers’ values demand homes and condominiums that are sensitive to the environment and we deliver with developments that that are not only environmentally innovative but that also save our buyers money.
All of our new condos and homes include the following features:
- Hydronic furnaces that are 98% efficient, take up less space, provide better air quality and save money with low gas consumption.
- LED lighting throughout the entire home or condo which uses less electricity and saves money on hydro bills.
- Low volume dual flush toilets and low flow faucets and showers ensure water is not wasted and that water bills are kept at a minimum.
- Kitchen cabinets made of non-toxic, environmentally friendly products such as responsibly harvested solid wood, formaldehyde-free cabinets, and non-toxic water-based glues and finishes
- Low VOC paints.
- Energy Star rated and argon gas filled windows.
Beyond our condos and new homes and their features, we always make the greatest effort to preserve the natural features and vegetation on our project sites. In particular, when it comes to old growth trees, we take extra care to ensure that wherever possible these trees are retained and preserved. We also ensure our landscaping includes a plentiful variety of native plant species and new trees to replenish our urban canopy.
